Exhibits

Station

Built in 1908, by the Franklin Realty Company, the former Grand Trunk Pacific Railway station is one of the oldest buildings in town. The Grand Trunk Pacific Railway existed from 1914 – 1919, whereupon it was merged into the Canadian National Railway (C.N.R.). The building was busy for several decades, moving passengers, freight, and mail, though by the middle of the century, it was no longer being used. The Town of Nokomis bought the building from the C.N.R. for $1.00 in 1983, and it was moved from the end of Main Street to its present location. The station now contains six exhibition rooms, featuring household and railroad artefacts.

Junction City

Sold to the museum in 1983, this building used to belong to the North America Lumber Company. It has since been converted into ‘Junction City’, an artistic rendering of what Main Street may have looked like in Nokomis’ early years. With 16 exhibition rooms, Junction City is a must see exhibit for any visitor to the museum.
